2017 WINE HARVEST WEEKEND CELEBRATION AT THE RANCH

Friday, October 20th – Sunday, October 22nd, 2017

As the bountiful harvest ripens in the valley and the sun stretches golden across the sky, Carmel Valley Ranch is preparing for harvest. At The Ranch and throughout Carmel Valley, the bounty of our organic gardens, apiaries, and vineyards is being harvested. Come celebrate alongside our artisans as their year-long farmstead devotion reaps its ripe perfection. Be one of the first to taste our third release of Pinot Noir from the Carmel Valley Ranch Vineyard.

We are eager to celebrate our 3rd Annual Wine Harvest —a 3-day weekend full of experiential events and activities for you to enjoy.

SWING 2016 RESERVE PINOT NOIR RELEASE DINNER party – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20

6:00p – 9:00p | OAK ROOM & terrace | $125++ per PERSON |FOR RESERVATIONS PLEASE CALL 831-626-2599

Celebrate with our winemaker team, Executive Chef Tim Wood and Sommelier Mark Buzan, as they proudly unveil the highly anticipated 2016 Swing “Reserve” Pinot Noir from our own Carmel Valley Ranch vineyards. We will also serve all of the other Swing wines, including the 2016 Reserve Rose, 2016 Monterey County Chardonnay and the 2015 Reserve Pinot Noir in a comparison with the new 2016 vintage release. In addition, we will feature the Caraccioli Cellars Brut Cuvee during the reception and De Tierra "Ekem" Late-Harvest Riesling for dessert.

6:00p The celebration will begin with a tasting reception of Chef Tim’s seasonal appetizers along with one of our favorite local sparkling wines on the Oak Room Terrace.

7:00p Join Chef Tim’s “Eat Like a Chef” family-style dinner concept paired with our own Swing wines, as well as some of our local favorites from Caraccioli and De Tierra.

CARMEL VALLEY WINE EXPERIENCE – GRAND TASTING – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21

1:00P – 4:00P | VINEYARD LAWN | $85 PER PERSON* ONLINE | $95 PER PERSON* AT THE DOOR

We are excited to announce The Carmel Valley Wine Experience (CVWE) 3rd annual Wine & Food event. The grand tasting event will take place on the beautiful Vineyard Lawn at Carmel Valley Ranch on October 21st from 1pm to 4pm. You will be able to taste wine from 12 winery members of the Carmel Valley Wine Experience as well as sample food from local restaurants who will be showcasing local produce and foods from beautiful Monterey County. Meet The Ranch’s own artisans for a specialty tasting of The Ranch’s new 2016 Swing vintage, a Ranch-honey tasting from our apiary, a variety of Ranch-made salt tastings from our salt house, and a goat cheese tasting by our goat whisperer and master cheese maker. *Must be 21 years of age and have a valid ID.

Saturday, 10/21, 11am & 1pm, And Sunday 10/22, 11amBee Experience Suit up with one of our Ranch Beekeepers for a visit to our hives, home to 60,000 Italian honeybees. Included is a taste of honey straight from the hive, as well as a lavender beeswax gift for each person. $75 Adults, $50 Ages 6–12, with adult.
Saturday, 10/21, 3pmKites in the Wind Make and decorate your own kite, and let it fly! We supply the materials and you provide the creativity. $25 per person; Ages 12 & under with adult.

Sunday, 10/22, 10amBirding Walk Join our Birding Expert on an informative hike in search of The Ranch’s flightiest residents—the seasonal and year-round birds flitting, soaring, singing, chirping, and strutting around the property. We’ll supply the binoculars, just bring your eagle-eye and patience. Beginners welcome!
Sunday, 10/22, 10amOrganic Garden Tour Where can you feed chickens, chase butterflies, pick herbs, taste salt crystals, and discover how last night’s salad sprouted to life? It’s all happening in the Organic Garden! Enjoy a leisurely guided walk to learn more about this magical place where every season brings new things to see, do, and learn.
Sunday, 10/22, 1:30pmArchery: Beginner Class Nock, draw, loose! Learn this ancient sport from a master instructor at our beautiful target practice area. All participants must be wearing athletic attire and closed toed shoes. $50, Ages 12 & up.
